Qalandiya

There was very little traffic on the road to Qalandiya CP and very few people were in the CP all afternoon.  In general, the CP was very quiet – an observation supported by the candy-vendor at the entrance to the northern shed.  There have been some new developments at the CP:  large electronic screens have been put in place at the entrance to all the passageways, announcing whether the passageway is open or closed.  (One of the “open” passageways appeared to be closed, because the “aquarium” where the soldiers sit was dark, but when we made some noise, the soldier turned on the lights and invited those waiting on line to enter.)

Lines were short both in the vehicle CP for those coming from Ramallah and in the passageway for bus passengers on the western end of the CP.
