Morning

6:35 Anin checkpoint

The site is open and operational. About 15 individuals have gone through, as well as 3 tractors. All within 10 minutes.

7:05 Shaked-Tura checkpoint

Soldiers walk slowly up the road in the direction of the checkpoint. There are a number of school children who are early today, as well as an adult and a number of students who walk quickly into the checkpoint.

At 7:10 the small schoolchildren cross to the other side, and the students too come out and get into the car which is waiting for them.

From inside the checkpoint we hear a loud argument.

07:20 workers cross from the West Bank into the Seam Line zone.

The school principal, who arrives every day in his car at 07:10 is able to continue his drive to the West Bank only at 7:25.

At 7:25 the crossing of vehicles begins on both sides. There are many vehicles and pedestrians at the entrance to the checkpoint.

The loud argument from inside increases and Palestinians tell us that the son of the vice-head of the municipality of Um-el-Rihan, who studies in Jenin (West Bank), usually goes through using a passage permit for the Barta'a checkpoint but this morning his father brought him to the Shaked checkpoint, and the soldiers won'tlet him through because the permit is not correct.

The father and the son set at the checkpoint until we left (at 7:50), awaiting a telephone call from the DCO.

8:00 – Rihan-Barta'a checkpoint

At this late hour there are only a few workers who go up the from the terminal on their way to Barta'a.

Drivers who have been waiting at the site since 5 am tell us that passage was ok today.
