Everything is quiet. A diluted stream of people at E-Ram and very little traffic, everything flows smoothly and so it is in Qalandya. Only blue Ids and the others with permits. A chemist who lives in Bet Hanina went to visit his parents atSemiramis, and stopped to answer our question about the geography of the place. He said that at 6.30 in the morning there was a big crowd at the checkpoint of people who were going to pray and the atmosphere was quite tense. Two youngsters who work at the market in Jerusalem also stopped and talked with us, told us that they come to the checkpoint on regular days at about 4 in the morning to be there when the checkpoint opens. When it used to get closed at 6 in the evening they rented an apartment in Jerusalem for 500 dollars.
