This was a very shocking experience for us. Still, what about the Palestinians who experience it all the time. The passage next to the mosque was sealed. At the end the cement blocks were not so high, so people were climbing through there with a lot difficulty. The guard at the gate of the university, S., brought me a chair when I tried to use that passage. The chair is not there all the time. He said the closing was done a couple of days ago and more of it earlier today. The main passage is next to the gas station, where the checkpoint used to be a few months ago. Only there was no opening in the wall and people have to climb up the hill, without stairs or anything to ease up the passage except for some pieces of wood. To get down on the other side was just as bad. We ended up helping people to pass. Especially mothers with babies , who handed over the babies to us and then climbed up or down. We were also assisting old people, young children, women with parcels. The soldiers at the checkpoint stopped people occasionally and checked their IDs. No one was detained. One of them said the passage is going to be closed all together soon
