Abu Dis, Wadi NarThursday 2.12.04 14.30 - 17.30Maya B. Drora P. Dvora G.(guest) Edna k. (reporting)First we went to Abu-dis, saw 5 B.P. at the Hotel. We drove along the wall to the new settlement about to be built - "Kidmat Zion" already guarded by security poeple. At the "pishpash" as usual poeple are crossing through the monasrary court. No soldiers seen.We drove to Wadi-Nar where we found long lines of cars on both sides and only 5 soldiers on duty, one of them from the DCO.One taxi was detained and ID taken from the men in it. They were waiting an hour claiming that they saw the commander of the C.P. put them in his pocket. When Maya approched him (Z. Y.) and asked for his name and number he came over to us asking us for the same. After a while the IDs were given back. There were also around 10 detaineesinfo-icon who waited for 2 hours. The answer is always - we are checking. The pedesrians line is long. Sometimes each one is being checked carefully, after a while, upon a sign, they stream through without any pause. We could`nt help one car with telecommunication poeple to go through without a permit. It is very important to stress that no private cars can go through this C.P.!None of the soldiers knows about special orders concerning the coming elections for the Palestinian Authority.
