Qalandiya Mon. 06.12.04 a.m.Observers: Sigal H.R, Aliza C (reporting)6:05 - 7:15At this early hour, there are few peddlers' stands, light traffic, people hurrying to work or waiting for transportation. The wall reaches to the intersection where the buses which take people to the various schools were empty. Pupils pushed onto the road from the northern side and the southern side of the intersection. We hurried to the checkpoint for the change of guard. The military police stood in the passageways and a representative of the DCO, Anton approached us and introduced himself. People passed quickly with no holdups. Several people that we met in the past and whom we assisted came to talk to us about the need for our work at the checkpoints. We returned to the intersection when we heard a call from the megaphone. A military jeep cleared all the peddlers from the side of the road. The cake seller near the checkpoint complained. According to him, if he doesn't manage to sell his cakes in the early hours of the morning, there will be no buyers later on and he will loss 200 shekels worth of merchandise. Another military jeep passed, revved up his motor causing a cloud of dirt. Those standing near the sides of the road believe this was done purposely and were furious about it.
