Abu Dis Friday Dec 10th 2004 – AM Observers: Rita M, Naama Sh, Avital B. (reporting)Guest: Maya.9:30. Container:few vehicles are coming to the checkpoint today – the soldiers check but did not detain any car during the time we were at the checkpoint.10:20: Pishpash: the soldiers are standing on the broken outer wall of the convent grounds, near the street. they check IDs, they allow those with blue IDs or with permits to go through. They also check those who are passing through other exits, and in a few cases they send people back, if they do not have the proper papers. During the entire time we were there, the soldiers made sure there were no cars and transits or buses standing at the intersection – “So that they do not block the route”. (we translate this as meaning that the BP jeeps can go through at full speed…) Sometimes they turn to shouting in a rude manner to accomplish their aims. At the Hotel: no soldiers or detaineesinfo-icon were seen.
