Sawahre, Mishor Adumim, Abu DisMonday morning Jan. 31,2005Mor B., Michal B., Rachel Rokach (reporting)Sawahre: The traffic is moving freely, only about 5cars are waiting. The soldiers barely answer ourquestion of how things are going.Mishor Adumim: There is a line of about 25 vehicleswhen we arrive (around 8:00), moving quickly. By thetime we leave after 15 minutes the checkpoint has beendismantled and the cars move on.Abu Dis: Pedestrians are coming through the monastery, including some from the West Bank. The soldiersrefuse to reply to our "good morning". The driverssay it's a bad day, the soldiers have a police dog inthe monastery grounds. They didn't actually explainwhat the dog is being used for and why it's a bad day.Again, a heavy feeling that beyond witnessing andreporting, there is nothing we can do. All thesoldiers we met today were totally unapproachable.
