Anata, Ar-Ram, Qandiya Sunday 30.01.05 AMWatchers: Dalia R. Marit T. (rep)6.30 -8.30CP's are busy yet efficient. Some everyday problems.6.30 AnataHeavy trafic, both cars and pedestrians. Crossing is fast.6.55 Ar-RamEven cars are checked in a faster pace then usually.8.30Checking cars is again abominably slow as ever.7.10 QalandiyaThe place is unusualy crowded and busy. It is also inhumanly littered and dirty. The queue is large, and it takes 10-15 to cross. The two turning gatesinfo-icon and the free one for children, women and teachers are not enough for rush hours.A boy on bicycles is refused crossing. The MP in charge assured us that these are the regulations. His father said it is the first time, we have the same impression as his. Can anything be done about it?Somebody with a foreign passport is not let through. He was gone before we had a chance to talk to him. How can one inform the stiff-lady-volunteer of the actual regulations? We had a talk with T. the local commander (but not in charge of the actual checking, he said) about the unbearable filth all around the place. He said the regiment commander is the only one that can do something about it, like making the Jerusalem municipality taking care of it.
