Huwwara Thu. 3.2.05 pmObservers: Shalva C, Yardena T, Shoshana Z & Ada H (reporting)The market road in Huwwara was open for traffic. Huwwara South: no detainies, people crossing fast after a brief check. The sellers at the srand are working undisturbed.Huwwara North: 4 young detainies complaining of waiting for hours, among them an AL-Najah student who has Crohn’s Disease, fealing unwell & does not understand why he is being held there. He has a student ID & Tasrich. We turned to the soldiers who directed us to Y., the CP commander. He told us that the issue is being looked at and reminded us that men between 16-25 do not cross. Even A. from DCO, who tried to free him did not succeed and only after another half an hour he was allowed to return home, not to cross as he had intended. On one of the detainies, 15 years old, it was found that he was carrying a belt bomb & a firearm. He was taken to a military vehicle hand cuffed and his eyes intermittently covered. He was lead quietly and we were allowed to give him drinking water. In the military vehicle we saw the “ saboteur”, a miserable boy shaking with fear.We were asked to move back together with the soldiers & the Palestinians so as to avoid being hurt by the controlled blow up of the belt bomb. Disposing of the belt bomb took about an hour & a half & in the meantime many people gathered at both CPs . After the explosion the people at the south cp tried to rush forward. The soldiers feared loosing control and discharged warning shots into the air, order was restored and people continued to cross again.
