Huwwara, North and South Wednesday PM, 5.1.05Observers: Tzvia S., Alona C., Simone R., Ayelet B., Dalia V., Nina S. (reporting)Guest: Gabi A.We arrived at 1:50 in pouring rain. The two checkpoints were operating quickly and, despite the line in the North, which was rather long, the people passed through quickly and the line disappeared. No detaineesinfo-icon, and even the few who were stopped during our shift were not detained for more than 10 minutes. The wretchedness of having to pass through the two checkpoints in the pouring rain was heartbreaking. If only they could have come in their cars to and from the checkpoints! They allowed one family with two infants to call a taxi to take them to the North checkpoint, so they wouldn't have to walk, but many other parents with small children and infants walked in the rain and suffered. Some of them took cover in the detention shed with us until the storm passed. We visited Beit Furik briefly, where there was also a line, but everyone was moving and no one waited for long. The only delay was for checking the cards in the computer. We left at about 15:40.
