Ar-Ram, Qalandiya07.02.05 p.m.Observers: Java B., Noa E, Tova S (reporting)Ar-Ram. No cars and no pedestrians. On our way back, there was a relatively long line of cars but we were the only pedestrians. The wet soldiers didn't even check our id's. The road to Qalandiya was an adventure in travel with deep and medium size holes.Qalandiya: We stayed for a very short time because of the terrible weather. As we read in the report of Lia, there is building going on at the checkpoint and tractors working in Tora Bora. The turnstiles again function in the northern direction. We saw turnstiles there which were waiting to be placed somewhere. It is not clear where. Reserve soldiers and volunteers were manning the checkpoint. The humanitarian lane was closed and therefore the other lanes were crowded and moving very slowly. We felt that each moment of waiting was very long indeed. From conversatins with people there, we understand that there is great fear about the uncertainty of people with blue i.d.'s from Jerusalem and the surroundings regarding the notice in the newspapers about encirclementinfo-icon of three villages near Ramallah and restrictions of movement of the residents -- a large number of whom have blue i.d.'s.
