Sawahre Tue. 08.02.05 p.m.Observers: Chana G., Rina H, Rahel W. (reporting)Because of the very bad weather, we did not go to Abu Dis (which we understood was open), but went directly to the Container by way of Al Ezariya and Ma'ale Adumim. The roads were open and there was no border police or military presence anywhere. When we arrived at the Container, there were no cars waiting in either direction. Everyone was waived through with scarcely any inspection. There was a change of guard and the usual delay -- about 15 minutes, but then traffic moved very quickly. When vans were stopped for inspection, IDs were returned within 5 minutes. (3 vans were stopped). One private vehicle heading south was not allowed through. When we spoke with the driver, he showed us his permit which had expired 6 months ago. (He said that he worked for the PA). His passenger took a different taxi and he was waiting for someone to intervene in his behalf. He said that he had managed to get through before, but this time, he was stopped. We left at about 3:45 when there were no vehicles or people waiting in either direction and the weather got very blustery and bitterly cold.
