Abu Dis Friday, 4 February 2005 AMObservers: Tamar A. & Rotem A. (reporting) 09:20 – The Hotel – Appears abandoned.09:35 – The Pishpash Gate – No soldiers. A few people. Cold, with a strong wind blowing.10:20 – The Container – There was a line of waiting cars on each side. Though it looked as if there was a traffic-jam, it was only that one minute in the cold seemed like thirty…10:30 – A few taxis and Transit vans were detained for ten minutes: soldiers checked papers.10:40 – A bus – full of passengers, including children – was detained. Two young men were taken off the bus. A taxi and a van were detained as well.11:00 – The young men were allowed to get back on the bus.11:10 – We asked the soldiers to see what was happening with the delay. Their papers were being checked, they said, they were waiting for answers. No District Coordination Office representative was present. A passenger asked whether we trying to help them. We phoned T., who promised to check and revert.11:15 – No word from T. Answers arrived through the communications system. We gave the names to T. ( hoping we helped a little)11:20 – The bus was released.11:25 – We left the checkpoint, defeated by the cold.
