Abu Dis, Wadi Nar Thurs. Feb. 17.05 PMobservers: Ora A., Nurit S. (reporting)Abu Dis--3:30- Pishpash gate--the whole area is not marked for no parking and there were no vehicles around. There was a jeep with three BP standing opposite the monastary gate and occassionally checking people. It seemed they were most busy chasing any car that wanted to park there. There were some Palestinians there who showed us where to park and we talked with them. The same old stuff. We walked into the Monastary garden and chatted with some young men who were trying to sell things there. There was a little traffic, mostly women and children and we noticed that some people cross by climbing around the big wall that now blocks the Pishpash. I also conversed with the BP who were actually friendly and made a point of telling us that this is just their job and they don't make up the rules.Wadi Nar--Traffic was flowing very fast through the check point. They were passing cars and taxis at a speed I have never seen before. Pedestrians also passed quickly. Two buses waited on the Bethlehem side while four of their passengers were being checked and were released while we were there. The BP there were also friendly.
