Anata, Ar-Ram, Qalandiya, Thursday, 24.2.2005, AMObservers: Ruth E., Aviva W., Rama Y. (reporting)Anata. A very long vehicle line, and people are veryangry and frustrated about it. A truck driver shoutedto us from his truck that he had waited in line since6:15. The hour was 6:55. School children were checkedmeticulously, even the youngest among them. APalestinian told us that on his way to the CP, he hadmet several children on their way back home -- theydidn't have birth certificates, and the soldierswouldn't let them through.Ar-Ram. The "humanitarian" lane was blocked so thatonly one person could go through at a time. Here, too, school children were checked very carefully. Civilpolice were present, checking car & driving permits ofpeople heading north. On the way to Qalandiya, there was quite a jam - theworks on the separation wall are in full swing now. There were many soldiers, and for the first time wesaw the Ramboish keepers of the wall, all fully armed. They were present at the southern entrance to the CP,too. Extensive works are being done to the east ofthe CP, no one knows what for.
