Rihan, Shaked, Wednesday, February 23, 2005, PM Observers: Tamar Y., Shiviona V. (reporting) In general, this was a shift with no special problems, and no detaineesinfo-icon.We arrived at Shaked gate at 14:00, after having driven around the area because we couldn't at first find the place. The gate was open when we arrived, but soldiers closed it while we were there. The children had already passed through. The soldiers glanced at us and said "Ah, you're from MachsomWatch," and allowed us to approach the gate. 15:00 - Rihan The soldiers let us go to the area of the pedestrian passage when they saw our MachsomWatch tags. There were few pedestrians, some of whom were female students from Jenin. The two soldiers who were checking, H. and R. (a female soldier), were very pleasant both toward us and toward the Palestinians passing through.R., who has already served there for five months, seems to be familiar with some of the passersby and they greeted her with a friendly "Ahalan."
