Morning

06:00 – Barta'a Reihan Checkpoint

Many workers, who have already gone through the checkpoint, are waiting for rides. Many trucks loaded with vegetables are also waiting. A young man points to one of the trucks and proudly explains, "Those are mine, and I grew them."

We are impressed by the orderly line on the Palestinian side thanks to Iad, the volunteer.  It is terribly cold.

A man accompanied by a lovely, well-dressed girl says that they were not allowed to cross. They need to get to the hospital for the child's treatment. Ruthi got Ron, the checkpoint assistant manager, involved, and the matter was taken care of.

A young man says that he was fined NIS 1,000 for crossing a white line in Hebron. People also tell us that there were problems when they returned from work in the afternoon.

06:55 – Tura Shaked Checkpoint

We were told that the checkpoint opened at 06:40.  Hallelujah!  Today is lively compared with the usual slow traffic here. Cars enter the checkpoint, surprisingly, and then the drivers get out to be checked, and avoid leaving their cars outside the checkpoint as they did before.

The small children arrive and it is nice to see them.

We see that the garbage container is overflowing, as usual, and the area around the checkpoint is full of litter.

We left at 07:30.
