Machsom Watch, the joint Palestinian-Israeli Human Rights group, has slammed the operational procedures of a checkpoint near Jenin, stating that those operating the checkpoint regularly detain persons for several hours in a room without proper ventilation.

Speaking with reference to the Reihan checkpoint, located near the northern West Bank city of Jenin, Ghassan Qabha, municipal chairman of a nearby village described the dungeon as seven feet on seven feet and even with the hot weather these past few weeks, it doesnt have a fan or a window or a chair. Qabha added that four to five people are regularly crammed into the confined space and made to wait up to more than one hour a situation that resulted one man last week losing consciousness.
While several official complaints regarding conditions at the checkpoint have been made, no changes have yet been enacted.
