Morning
The day of the terrorist attack in the industrial zone of Barkan
We set out to our shift fearing how the attack would influence the atmosphere at the checkpoints and the villages near them. We stopped at Jamal’s home where everything was quiet and we heard no expressions of concern from the people we met.
At the checkpoint we met the man who operates (already 57 years) the water pump, just next to the passage gate. We heard from him that the checkpoint had been opened with a delay, and that only a few pickup cars passed and that the soldiers hastened to close the gate, and that was that. This surely was not the case at the village of Shweika and its near surroundings.
