 Beit Iba, Shave Shomron  07:05-07:45

Beit Iba

Pedestrians:  Traffic seems light, no lines at all at the entrance to Nablus.  When we came closer we saw that people entering aren’t being checked.  Inspections began after about 20 minutes, and then stopped again.  No line going in during all the time we were there.

A few people on line leaving Nablus, all of them being checked, belts, shoes, and again the usual scene of people removing shoes and belts.  People are directed first to one turnstile, then to another – somewhat confusing, but traffic flows relative quickly.

Vehicles:  No line at all entering; when a vehicle arrives it’s inspected.

3 vehicles in line to leave; when a bus arrives all the passengers get off and wait about 10 minutes for document inspection.  The documents are returned and the bus continues on its way.

We decided to see what’s happening at Shave Shomron.

07:50-08:00

The checkpoint is open, no vehicle being inspected.  The soldiers say the checkpoint is open from 06:00 to 12:00.  We were glad to hear it, and continued to Anabta.
