Afternoon

16.00 Beit Iba.
No line of cars at the entrance and at the exit the cars pass swiftly. The commander, M. speak to us pleasantly but is disappointing in his attitude towards the Palestinians. The entrance lane to the pedestrian checkpoint is flooded but the commander is not prepared to let them go through the exit lane which is dry. (Last week there was a commander who really hated us but behaved well towards the Palestinians and did let them go through the dry lane). The prescence of the DCO representative is not felt at all. A bus is checked and passed quickly. The cars entering do not have to show their licenses but those leaving do. They are checked and go through.

16.45 We leave.
