Morning

06:55 Reihan Checkpoint

There are two tenders in the upper parking lot.  The yellow gate in the middle of the road is still closed.

07:00  The checkpoint staff take up their positions. The announcement: “Good morning, Passage is beginning” sounds and the yellow gate opens.

07:05
In the sleeveinfo-icon at the entrance the first people coming out announce that “Today everything is OK.”

07:70 People are coming out quickly, everyone smiles, says good morning and continues hurrying to their taxis outside.  Some add, “Today everything is OK, things are going quickly.”

What are they building over there on the eastern side of the road next to the dog kennel?  Inside the terminal the partition is closed.  One window is open.  The potted plants are in their places.  The line to the terminal from the lower parking lot on the Palestinian side is short.  Crossing the terminal to the exit to the seamline zone takes 7-10 minutes, and there is little traffic in the other direction as well.   At about 07:45 another window opens.

At 07:55 the terminal is empty.

There are no pedestrians on the access road from the south.  A’s transit is visible going back and forth.  He does not have a lot of work on Saturday either.  There are no cars waiting on the road  or in the shed.  We saw one car come in occasionally (with the dog inspecting it).

There are 8 vans in the upper parking lot.

08:10 Shaked Checkpoint
There is no traffic.  We picked up a hitchhiker going towards Reihan.

08:20
 We left.
