Turah-Shaked checkpoint.

When we arrived, all was deserted and very hot.  In a few minutes, the picture changed and lively movement of cars started from the seamline zone towards the West Bank. A brief check of documents and passage is quick.

Tobacco has already been planted in the fields.

15.30-15.50. Yabed-Dotan checkpoint

On the way to Mevo Dotan we pass the lower parking lot of Barta’a checkpoint. The lots are full of cars, including the new one. Cars are parked in every possible spot.

Not manned; it is decorated with Israeli flags. Traffic flows in both directions. We are greeted by those passing by.

Many vehicles bring workers back from work. They all hurry home, streaming down the sleeveinfo-icon to the terminal. We ask about the passage in the morning.  “It went smoothly,” people tell us. The infuriating occupation routine…
