The only real problem we had today was that of a pregnant woman who wanted to make sure that her husband would be with her when she gave birth. At first she let us understand that she was due this week but, as before, I phoned my friend Naftali London Sappit to make sure we understood. It is to be in a month's time and, as with her first child, it will be a Caesarian. The husband has a permit to be with her at about that date, but they are worried what will happen if the permit expires before she gives birth. We could only advise her to contact the DCO if that should happen. I wonder if Israelis realise how lucky they are that they do not have to face such problems as their time draws near.
