Morning

I do not know what we can do about the blaring of the radio in the waiting room. It is so obvious that it is only done to harass and make the "visit" to this charming and "so well run" establishment even harder, that one can only wonder at the IQ of those sitting behind the turnstile.

Can they not find  better ways to show their disdain and hatred of the Palestinians? Of course, the women's toilet has not worked for years, and neither does the water fountain. Then we are told by those who managed to squeeze through the turnstile that the corridor is full of people who are waiting and there are no soldiers in the offices. We know this to be true, as sitting in the car outside, we saw no people exiting from the offices practically till the end of our shift.   Maybe they are preparing themselves for the arduous duty of preparing themselves for the effort of eating lunch.

And of course, there is the phantom policeman who is also known more for his non-appearance than for his appearance. BUT every now and again a weary voice calls for some Palestinian to make his way into an unknown area to be questioned. On the other hand, you also have the Palestinians who have been called to be questioned  by a phone call or a soldier appearing at their house in the early hours of the morning, and arrive only to sit for a few hours as they do not have the pleasure of hearing this unknown voice calling them in.

There were also two well-dressed men who had a problem with their lands. Now we know where to send them. It is not much use giving them Uzi's phone number as when we tried to phone him ourselves there is no answer.

Also, a divorced man who wants to visit his children. There is some problem with the birth certificates, so his wife does not want to visit him and he is prevented. Sylvia tried, without any luck, to deal with the problem, and now he has to wait another year before he can apply again.

Other than that, all the usual problems.
