Morning

A car full of goods for the ‘Azzun shop.

It’s been quiet lately. Soldiers haven’t entered the locality. On the other hand, say our hosts, hostility of residents toward Israelis is increasing. They’re worried about harm to friends visiting them. Pupils may throw stones if they see a vehicle with Israeli plates. Those are new fears that weren’t present before.

The home is clean and orderly. The three older children, who’ve finished their schooling, are looking for work, without success. Zaharan himself isn’t working at the moment. His wife is the sole breadwinner, running the second-hand goods shop, which we help. Everything falls on her.

Continuing the previous report: the work on the roads is in its final stages, the new neighborhood in Tzofin is taking shape in the form of houses being built down the slope of the hill. It’s hard to photograph while driving.

At the entrance to ‘Azzun.

It looks like an attempt has been made to clean up the area. The army has blocked off the entire neglected area with more and more concrete barriers.

Oh, occupation, occupation – how will you end?
