Qalandiya, Sun 5.5.13, Morning
We arrived at 05:00 and there was a long line but there was a group on duty that worked and it took 20 minutes at 6am to get through until then about 1100 workers went through starting 04:45.
At that time we saw many people coming back after being returned from the checking booth. we learned quickly that these were people who came from Jib where the computers broke down and nobody could go through. these people spent money and time to go by taxis to Qalandiya hopimng like we did that the breakdown is reported and so the workers could enter Jerusalem through Qalandiya. But NO!!!If the permit says Jib then it must be Jib and no excuse will do. Naturally one phone call could ascertain that there really is a computer failure at Jib
We left immediately for Jib where we met a petit, very young soldier who fixed the computer and by the time we came people started going through slowly but surely and the line was of about a hundred people ONLY!
