Food for thought: The occupation didn’t start in 1967.
After we watched the opening (with a delay of 5 minutes) and the closing of the CP and learned that the winter holidays at the Palestinian schools last until the 30th of January, 2017 (we saw quite a few young children accompanying their parents when leaving the CP and when returning from the fields to Habla), a man approached us near the plant nurseries verging on road no. 55. He is from Habla, 61 years old. When we asked him how come his Hebrew is so excellent he answered that he has been working in Israel nearly 50 (!) years, a true builder of the country. In the course of these years his livelihood has been reduced and his present economic situation is dire. We learned from him that his family stems from Harish. In 1948 his father and other family members were chased awayleft – he didn’t explicitly say how his family has been forced to leave its home – and arrived at Habla. A few members of his family, including his aunt, remained at Harish. When Kibutz Horshim was established in the early fifties of the last century, the remaining villagers were driven out to Jaljuliya.
The man’s cousin is sick and since he has a permit to enter Israel, he is on his was to visit her.

Habla CP (1393)
The Habla checkpoint (1393) was established on the lands of the residents of Qalqilya, on the short road that
connected it for centuries to the nearby town of Habla. The separation barrier intersects this road twice and cut off the residents of Qalqilya from their lands in the seam zone.(between the fence and the green line).
There is a passage under Road 55 that connects Qalqilya to the sabotage This agricultural barrier is used by the farmers and nursery owners established along Road 55 from the Green Line and on both sides of the kurkar road leading to the checkpoint.
This agricultural checkpoint serves the residents of Arab a-Ramadin al-Janoubi (detached from the West Bank), who pass through it to the West Bank and back to their homes. The opening hours (3 times a day) of this agricultural checkpoint are longer than usual, about an hour (recently shortened to 45 minutes), and are coordinated with the transportation hours of a-Ramadin children studying in the occupied in the West Bank.
