Etzion DCO: Difficulties in arranging a magnetic card

Place: Etzion DCO
Observers: Netanya Ginsburg, Shlomit Steinitz
Jun-29-2026
| Morning

There were about 27 people waiting, including three who had been called in for questioning.

A man has a house and  6 dunam of land but the army has requisitioned it for “security reasons”. We also gave him the name of lawyers, one of whom works with the Rabbis for Human Rights and deals with such problems.

A man had done work for a contractor, Yoram from Modi’iam who works with a group, Hagar Ram Tashtiyot  Limited and did work for a contractor in Beit Shemesh. He received a cheque of 30,000 shekel (another 15.000, was still to be paid. The next day he went to the bank to deposit the cheque only to find that it had been cancelled. The next day the war broke out. He has phoned Yoram a number of times but the call is never answered. We gave him the name of two lawyers and the phone number of Kav Laoved.. We sent the details to Hagit Ofran (`Peace Now`) There is great difficulty in getting an appointment for the magnetic card. Sometimes the telephone line only  opens for a few minutes. Those who can do so pay a “macher” (wheeler-dealer) to get them an appointment but who knows what other hands the payment does through. Others come and sit hopefully…and often in vain.
