Anata Abu Dis , Feb 10, 2004 Morning Watchers: Yudit S, Hana G, Mara, Tami G, Neta E. Anata- a long line of cars. Only one border policeman is checking the cars. Sometimes he checks all cars and ID’s and sometimes lets pass the check point with no questions and check ups. There is a long line of cars trying to exit the village towards Jerusalem. Another soldier is checking the pedestrians. some are checked some not. Three man from the territories, that work on the train line in Jerusalem, are detained. After their ID’s are checked, one is allowed to go to Jerusalem and the two other man are sent back(they have a permit from the Jerusalem municipality). They try to look for other ways to Jerusalem. The alternative road are visible: you can see many people walking there. The check ups are totally random. Wadi Nar, the Container- Rotem and the rest of the staff were a bit bored, so their talked with us about the situation, the check point etc….all in all there were few people detained and waiting for their ID to be checked. Abu Dis- We went there just to see the monster wall in progress. It now closes the olive grove on the east side of the gas station. Only a year ago people: man women and children, could cross through the mud field.Back then, we thought no worse could happen, today we saw it could be much worse.N.
