Jubara checkpoint

13:25 – Irritating rain and it's coooold. At the children's gate there just a few wet soldiers. A-ras under heavy rain. about 4-5 cars are awaiting in the entry queue. Amit goes out to find out if there is a detainee, and all of a sudden the dreadful Mrs Rika appears, waving the instruction page of the women of Blue-White, and convinces the soldires to summon the police, swearing and lecturing. There is a non- specific alert and therefore the inspection is slow. A cab driver who talks to us is punished by a second inpection. 13:57 Anabta. At the entrance a lorry loaded with flour is delayed because of permits which are unfamiliar to the soldiers. At the exit there are about 15 vehicles waiting. Traffic is flowing. We inform the Centre about the delayed lorry. Beit Lid – A sudden road block because of a non-specific alert. An  apartness – only Tulkarm residents are allowed through. A  long queue from the direction of Beit Iba. A cab driver from the village Burka is desperately stuck. He has no way of getting home. We approached the Centre about his case. While dealing with it, a policeman who was present there barks at us –  I am the 'landlord' here. Take your car and scram!  15:50 Jit  -No road block.

The checkpoint is located south of the village of 'Anabta, at the intersection of Road 60 (leading to Nablus at the entrance to Area A), with Road (57, 557, 5576) facing west towards the Einav settlement and the checkpoint at the exit from the West Bank - Figs checkpoint. Until 2010 we used to watch the intersection and report the long columns created due to a slow inspection of the vehicles in both directions.

    • The checkpoint is located on Route 60 near at the junction with Route 55, near the village of Jit. There was a checkpoint for vehicles passing between the north and south of the West Bank, which was abolished towards 2010. Since then, surprise checkpoints have been set up there from time to time with a police or Border Police vehicle, and vehicles and their passengers are inspected.

    •   The Jabra checkpoint was on Road 557, south of Tulkarm, on the side of the Figs Pass, which is located within the Palestinian Authority (a few kilometers east of the Green Line), and serves as an entry barrier from the territories to Israel. The checkpoint to the village of Jubara, which until 2013 was in the seam area, blocked and surrounded by a fence, was intended for the passage of the family members of the house next to the checkpoint, and also for the MachsomWatch volunteers (with special permission only), on their way to checkpoint 753. on the other side of the village. The soldiers supervising the "fig crossing" also supervised the crossing at this checkpoint, in our shifts we often waited a long time until the key was found and the gate opened. The checkpoint was abolished and became part of the separation fence that was moved west following the High Court.
