| Morning

8.20

Anabta – There are 6
cars waiting at the entrance to Israel and 2 at the entrance to Tulkarm.
The inspection lasts two minutes and one minute respectively.

One soldier is indifferent and
doesn’t seem to care. The line he is inspecting is getting longer.
The time of inspection doesn’t change, but the time between a car
leaving the roadblock and the soldier calling the next vehicle is getting
longer. And if the car approaches without having been called there is
another delay meant to educate the driver who is forced to drive reverse,
wait and then move forward again when the soldier waves his hand. Order
has to be maintained.

8.45

When we leave the roadblock there
are 9 vehicles at the entrance to Israel and 18 at the entrance to Tulkarem.

9.10

The soldiers won’t open the
gate leading to Jubara and A-Ras, but a few minutes after a call to
the Coordination Office the gate is opened.

9.20

A-Ras There are no lines
at A-Ras. 4 vehicles from Tulkarem are driving through.

We visit Shuakya at her house
by the roadblock at Jubara. She tells us that the day before her daughter
didn’t feel well, so they tried to pass through the gate, but for
three hours the soldiers didn’t open it, although they saw them and
were aware of her daughter’s condition. In the end she and her daughter
went a different way by cab.

When we visit her daughter is
still hospitalized. We give her the phone number to Miki Fisher.

On the gate there is a sign with
the following words,

Thanks
to Machsomwatch for supporting our struggle

   Activists of terrorist
organizations”

Do the Women in Blue and White
really sign “terrorist organizations”? Well, I believe you could
call them terrorists…..

10.15

Qalqiliya – There is
no line at the exit. At the entrance there is a short line, but it drives
through without delay.

    • 'Anabta CP

The checkpoint is located south of the village of 'Anabta, at the intersection of Road 60 (leading to Nablus at the entrance to Area A), with Road (57, 557, 5576) facing west towards the Einav settlement and the checkpoint at the exit from the West Bank - Figs checkpoint. Until 2010 we used to watch the intersection and report the long columns created due to a slow inspection of the vehicles in both directions.

    • A-Ras (The Children Checkpoint)
On Tulkarm-Qalqiliya road (574), east of Hirbet Jubara. tia checkpoint is dedicated to residents traveling to and from Tulkarm, so they should not cross apartheid road 557 (only permissible for settlers).

    •   The Jabra checkpoint was on Road 557, south of Tulkarm, on the side of the Figs Pass, which is located within the Palestinian Authority (a few kilometers east of the Green Line), and serves as an entry barrier from the territories to Israel. The checkpoint to the village of Jubara, which until 2013 was in the seam area, blocked and surrounded by a fence, was intended for the passage of the family members of the house next to the checkpoint, and also for the MachsomWatch volunteers (with special permission only), on their way to checkpoint 753. on the other side of the village. The soldiers supervising the "fig crossing" also supervised the crossing at this checkpoint, in our shifts we often waited a long time until the key was found and the gate opened. The checkpoint was abolished and became part of the separation fence that was moved west following the High Court.
  • Qalqiliya checkpoint

See all reports for this place
    • Qalqilya is surrounded on all sides by the separation barrier. The only exit from the city is in the east of the city on the road that leaves the city in an easterly direction. This is where the checkpoint was located. When the checkpoint was active until 2009 our shifts watched long queues of cars being inspected at the only exit from the city to the West Bank. The checkpoint was canceled, but there is a military presence at the entrance to the city.
