Qalqiliya
06:50 – There are no lines and almost no inspections.
Anabta
09:25 – A line of about 6 cars waiting at the entrance. The post is unmanned because the soldiers have gone to establish order in the line of the leaving vehicles that stretches beyond the turn. Two soldiers carry out the inspection; one of them checks the pedestrians while vehicles are checked by the other. There are many pedestrians who pass on foot after getting out of the taxis because of the long line. Ten minutes later the soldiers return to the post. The checkpoint commander who is one of the soldiers who went to establish order welcomes us and instructs one of the soldiers busy with the leaving vehicles to go over to check those that enter. He and the other soldier move to the rest area.
The inspection of entering vehicles is brief and consists mostly of a glance and sometimes a check of I.D. cards. On the other hand, leaving vehicles are checked strictly. At the exit pedestrians are checked too. The two soldiers stay at the rest area for 25 minutes, drinking coffee, reading the newspaper and talking on the phone while the line of leaving cars is getting longer since only one soldier checks both the cars and the pedestrians. In addition to that, a number of Israeli Arabs who probably have no entry permits are waiting for the checkpoint commander. Finally, at 10:00 all four of them carry out the checks. At the entrance there is almost no line.
Ar-Ras (from the road)

The checkpoint is located south of the village of 'Anabta, at the intersection of Road 60 (leading to Nablus at the entrance to Area A), with Road (57, 557, 5576) facing west towards the Einav settlement and the checkpoint at the exit from the West Bank - Figs checkpoint. Until 2010 we used to watch the intersection and report the long columns created due to a slow inspection of the vehicles in both directions.

Qalqiliya checkpoint

Qalqilya is surrounded on all sides by the separation barrier. The only exit from the city is in the east of the city on the road that leaves the city in an easterly direction. This is where the checkpoint was located. When the checkpoint was active until 2009 our shifts watched long queues of cars being inspected at the only exit from the city to the West Bank. The checkpoint was canceled, but there is a military presence at the entrance to the city.
