(reporting)14.20 The checkpoint and watchtower are about 200 metres north of the turning to Tulkarm. 8 cars waiting to enter, amongst them 5 taxis with occupants of all ages. All along the narrow road thee is barbed wire, large puddles of water and large stones , all of which makes driving difficult. The same number of cars waiting to leave. One soldier checking and one, without rank, guarding him, The sergeant greeted us. While pedestrians are being checked cars wait and are very carefully checked. The soldier signs to the car to come and it approached to 20 metres from the soldier. The driver gets out with the ids of all the passengers to be checked and he then returns to the car. These are then returned to them and he goes along the narrow way. 14.40 Jubara We speak with the taxi drivers and one tells us he gets up at 5.00 am …he lives in Jubara…so as to get to work but at 7.00 he was still waiting to get out and he went by a side road. • Jayyus Village. Some of its lands were separated from the village when the separation barrier was first built. The wall is very close to the village itself and access to a large part of its lands was exproptiated. After a petition to the High Court that was convinced that there was no security ground for the route of the barrier, the barrier was moved and some of the lands were returned to the village.
