07.45 At Beit Iba there are about 25-30 people, mainly students and e checking is random which takes about 5 minutes. There are no detainees and the soldiers and Palestinians ignore us. We stood next to two ecumenical volunteers who told us about the violent incident between Machomwatch and the soldiers on Friday which included the arrival of the police. They showed us pictures where the soldiers are pushing our women and say they will send it to us by e-mail.
friendly soldier opens the gate. At the passage a young Palestinian sits and one of the soldiers tell us that his permit is out of date and that a captain is coming to deal with this. He will sign that the document has been confiscated and the reason so that the man can get a new one from the DCO. The longer this process takes the more difficult it becomes. No lines at A-Ras and no one detained.

A perimeter checkpoint west of the city of Nablus. Operated from 2001 to 2009 as one of the four permanent checkpoints closing on Nablus: Beit Furik and Awarta to the east and Hawara to the south. A pedestrian-only checkpoint, where MachsomWatch volunteers were present daily for several hours in the morning and afternoon to document the thousands of Palestinians waiting for hours in long queues with no shelter in the heat or rain, to leave the district city for anywhere else in the West Bank. From March 2009, as part of the easing of the Palestinian movement in the West Bank, it was abolished, without a trace, and without any adverse change in the security situation.Neta EfroniJun-4-2014Beit-Iba checkpoint 22.04.04
