There for 30 minutes. All were detained inside Jerusalem. Z., the CP officer talks o us, friendly as usual. His company is back from one month training. Nothing to do about the datainees – checking, you know…7:45 – El Hader – almost empty. The rain keeps people inside8:15 – Beit Umar – we’re here to pick up some documents to be arranged by Chaia in Jerusalem. Children on their way to school, not many people outside.8:30 – El Arub – a jeep outside the pillbox, but the soldiers stay inside. 8:40 – Etzion DCO – 2 windows open, but the soldiers don’t call people to approach. Maher, the policeman, arrives at 9:30, half hour later than he should. Several people get their magnetic cards, one or two even get passing permits. A new phenomen at the DCO – a Palestinian lawyer sits there, tries to solve problems for those with open files at the police. Someone tells us that he only charges after the file is closed. We think he can help more than we can at the moment, so we leave.
