DCO Etzion: Deafening radio volume blasting in the waiting room

Place: Etzion DCO
Observers: Shlomit Stints, Natanya Ginzburg (reporting)

| Morning

The waiting room at the DCO was full, 25 people. Sitting inside allows us to see the activity, such as how many people enter the various DCO offices, but it is unbearable. The volume of the radio there is deafening. The Palestinians have no choice but to sit and suffer in silence, because they do not want to miss their turn.

Very few came in while we were still inside, but later we were told there was a problem with the computers and it looked like more people were coming in than we saw. The radio broadcasts loudly only advertisements. We are convinced that this is simply another way to harass the Palestinians, because the soldiers of the military cannot beat them up.

We met a lucky man. He is a teacher employed by the Palestinian Authority, he also perfected a wheelchair that works according to commands (it was even shown on TV), he also provides Palestinian with services for the magnetic cards. He pays for them with a visa and arranges everything for them, including taxi service to the police station and back home.

A man waiting outside called a friend in the waiting room and asked to speak with Shlomit outside.  She went out to him and he told her he had no money and that his child dreams of cocoa. She told him that Machsom Watch could not help financially but gave the boy a small amount.  Shlomit tried to record the volume of the radio, but the volume had to be separated. I will try to send it separately.
