| Morning

7:50 – There are soldiers, but there is free passage.  We go up to the blocked checkpoint at Shavei Shomron.

On our way back to the "Barrels" checkpoint, we are surprised to find a line of 13 vehicles at the exit from Nablus.  One vehicle is being inspected by the side of the road in a very thorough manner, and there are also another 12 vehicles in line at the entrance to Nablus.  These are not inspected, but the soldiers let them through one at a time and this creates a line.  Occasionally the soldiers stop a vehicle for inspection at the exit from Nablus and block the whole line of traffic.

8:15.  We went home.

    • Deir Sharaf checkpoint is located west of Nablus and south of the settlement of Shavei Shomron, at the entrance to the village of Deir Sharaf on the road leading to Nablus. The checkpoint was activated in early March 2009 after the Beit Iba checkpoint was closed. Palestinians are allowed through the checkpoint , but not for Israelis. Unlike the checkpoints leading to Qalqilya and Tulkarm, crossing of Israeli Palestinians is only allowed on Saturdays.
