Deir Sharaf, Thu 7.5.09, Morning
8:10 An Israel car is turned back as we arrive. From then on people go through without any problems while we’re there. What’s annoying is that all the projectors here are also on. There’s money for that, but not to have more open inspection booths for people entering Israel.
Construction of the new road for those living in Shave Shomron is proceeding quickly. There’s also money for that, even though it will only shorten their trip by half a kilometre. This road is really surrealistic. But the settlers get whatever they want – and our own poor should keep quiet and those injured in the concentration camps can die in poverty and shame, and we’ll reduce classroom time for our children and grandchildren – to insure that the settlers will have another road, all for the glory of the state of Israel.

Deir Sharaf checkpoint is located west of Nablus and south of the settlement of Shavei Shomron, at the entrance to the village of Deir Sharaf on the road leading to Nablus. The checkpoint was activated in early March 2009 after the Beit Iba checkpoint was closed. Palestinians are allowed through the checkpoint , but not for Israelis. Unlike the checkpoints leading to Qalqilya and Tulkarm, crossing of Israeli Palestinians is only allowed on Saturdays.
