We saw remnants (tombstones of cut stone) of the demolitions that took place in the eighties.On our way back, at 14:30 we noted the following:Between 14:30 and 14:43 (as we waited at the PC)traffic flowed.3 Israeli cars cross from west to east and 8 from eastto west. 21 Palestinians trucks and cars crossed fromwest to east and 3 from east to west (including ourswhich bears an Israeli license plate).On the way back, at 16:00, there were no cars waitingin line.DCO EtzionLess than 10 people. 2 were summoned by the SHABAC andhad beenwaiting since morning.We met a Catholic clergyman who told us that employeesat the school where he works usually receive permits,but not without a hassle. There is no uniformprocedure for church people. They get 3 month permitsto work in Jerusalem.Magnetic cards were issued, as well as entry permitsinto Israel in order to obtain a visa at the USembassy. A disabled person was deniedpermit because he lacked an official summons from thehospital. We were unable to check this case, but Azharshowed up half an hour later and answered ourquestions.Bethlehem CP 3003 men and 3 women detained in the hut. Since it wascold, we watched form the car. While I tried callingthe commander, 3 detainees were released. I hope thewomen were released later too. The detainees claimedthey had been detained for more than 4 hours, since13:00.Like I said, routine.
