Falamiya North Gate 914

05:50 – The gate has been opened. One of the workers told us that the land is registered in his father’s name. His children, who are the grandchildren of the land owner have difficulties of getting an authorization. Moreover, children under the age of 16 can’t get authorizations. Now, at the beginning of the summer holiday. They try and sometimes succeed in getting entry authorizations. Indeed, many young boys and entire families were seen. The complaint about the late return hour which is even more difficult in the summer, repeats itself. Part of the people return earlier by other gates. The army enables this, but it means a longer route to walk. The work now is mainly the organization of the watering and the picking of tomatoes and cucumbers. All in all there were about 80 people, three donkeys, 4 bicyles ,  9 tractors and one private car.

Anneline took photos of the tractors when they entered and then one of the soldiers came out to her and said: “don’t take photos of my soldiers”.

06:30 – the gate was opened after 10 minutes. One of the lads told us that they are 7 sons and only three of them get permission to enter. He also has a merchant license and can invite guests to his area. Once he invited a kindergarten from Tzur Yigal.

All in all there were about 40 people, 2 cars, 8 tractors.

In the meantime we discovered a flock of sheep which settled down opposite.

On our way back we passed the Jayyus South Gate 965. No person was seen, a military car passed and drove on.
