We asked to go with Nadim who is uptodate and familiar with all the routes, because for a long time we only went to the gates in the separation fence and wanted to renew our acquaintance with routes we had already forgotten.
As we left we were told that yesterday there had been incidents in the Jenin area, but not in the central group’s region, and we finally just passed by Za’tara and Huwwara until, via Highway 60, we reached the Habla checkpoint shortly before it opened in the afternoon.
Driving east on Highway 5 we can see the lands of Kafr ad Dik which are constantly reduced by the Alei Zahav settlement and its satellites. Military vehicles stood at the former entrance to Bruqin and Kafr ad Dik; they left a few minutes later and a civilian car also drove off.
The Barkan industrial zone is also expanding and a building belonging to the Global Engineering company extends almost to the road. (http://global.www.webclick-login.co.il)
11:10 (approximately). At Za’tara, the area where formerly vehicles could park is fenced and gated. A Palestinian stands in the middle. Detained? Waiting?
11:25 Huwwara. Cars go through in both directions through what was once a checkpoint, without being stopped. There are military vehicles below the pillbox where there was once a checkpoint; a soldier at the hitchhiking station in the plaza; a soldier in the guard tower overlooking the plaza.
A Border Police jeep was parked opposite Yitzhar.
11:53 ‘Azzun. The yellow metal barrier is open. A military jeep is on site.
13:00 Habla of Documents belonging to carters are being manually inspected . A man with a crossing permit for the Shomron Gate checkpoint exited this morning through the Habla checkpoint. He’s now not allowed to return home through it.
The boy pupils’ bus exits a few minutes after the checkpoint opens.
The “ceremony” in which people remove their belts and put them on again while walking.
13:45 Now the bus exits with girl pupils on their way home.

A man leaving Habla had been blacklisted for many years. The blacklisting was lifted three days ago and he’s able to work his land. That’s not enough to support his three children and he wants to work in Israel. But he can’t obtain an entry permit unless he finds an employer who’ll hire him.

Habla CP (1393)
The Habla checkpoint (1393) was established on the lands of the residents of Qalqilya, on the short road that
connected it for centuries to the nearby town of Habla. The separation barrier intersects this road twice and cut off the residents of Qalqilya from their lands in the seam zone.(between the fence and the green line).
There is a passage under Road 55 that connects Qalqilya to the sabotage This agricultural barrier is used by the farmers and nursery owners established along Road 55 from the Green Line and on both sides of the kurkar road leading to the checkpoint.
This agricultural checkpoint serves the residents of Arab a-Ramadin al-Janoubi (detached from the West Bank), who pass through it to the West Bank and back to their homes. The opening hours (3 times a day) of this agricultural checkpoint are longer than usual, about an hour (recently shortened to 45 minutes), and are coordinated with the transportation hours of a-Ramadin children studying in the occupied in the West Bank.

Za'tara (Tapuah) Za'tara is an internal checkpoint in the heart of the West Bank, at the intersection of Road 60 and Road 505 (Trans-Samaria), east of the Tapuah settlement. This checkpoint is the "border" marked by the IDF between the north and south of the West Bank, in accordance with the policy of separation between the two parts of the West Bank that has been in place since December 2005. At the Za'tara checkpoint, there are separate routes for Israelis and Palestinians. In the route for Israelis, there are no inspections and the route for Palestinians inspects. The queue lengthens and shortens suits. The checkpoint is open 24 hours a day. The checkpoint is partially staffed and the people who pass through it are checked at random.
