12:30 – We drove through the Bezek Checkpoint.
12:45 – Hamra Checkpoint
The awning that shades the checkpoint is still torn. There is a military police flag, and the checkpoint is manned by three men and two women soldiers. None of them approached us.
A white tender such as those belonging to the security administrators in the settlements arrives. It has a logo and "Police" written on it, and belongs to the Palestinian Police, and it drives westward. A few small taxis arrive from both directions. It is a holiday and there is very little traffic.
We left at 13:15.
13:30 – Tayasir
The same paratroopers are here. A large green garbage container is overflowing and garbage is spilling out, and cats are crawling in and out. Four cars cross going east. The drivers present their ID cards and continue on their way.
Soldiers in the abandoned army base are loading mattresses. An Israeli transport vehicle with yellow license plates stops near the position on the road, is sent back, and waits. At last it drives off. We hear shooting again and again. The place looks like a deserted hilltop. The soldiers wearing vests and red caps look like they are suffering in the heat. We picked a handful of fruit from the trees and left.
We left at 13:50.
We drove back through Bezek Checkpoint at 14:10.

Located on road 5799, It is one of the checkpoints control the passage between the northern West Bank and the Jordan Valley. For a long time, it stood empty and open, with only a sign next to it warning against entering Area A. It was adjacent to an old military camp - now everything is neglected. How much money was invested here, and how much brainwashing was done to the soldiers of Netzah Yehuda and Kfir.
Today, it is very difficult to pass there. Many delays. Often, teachers from Tubas are not allowed to pass into the Valley to villages like Ein al-Bida where the local schools are located, and there are no classes. There are additional days when the checkpoint is closed. In general, there is a wait there of about two to four hours to go towards the Valley and also to return. Many times the Palestinians are forced to use the Hamra checkpoint, which also leads into Tubas and the West Bank, but there is also a huge queue there and a long wait.
Following a deadly attack on soldiers at the nearby base in February 2025, the checkpoint was completely closed for the time being. (Updated March 2025)
