Hebron
At the Givat HaHarsina junction, a new monument in the square, showing the era of the spies whom Moshe sent from the desert to explore the land, and who returned with a huge cluster of grapes which were carries on a pole for years and which serves as an example of the miraculous fertility of the land. This is the symbol of the Israeli Ministry of Tourism which has been taken over by the settlers of Hebron, because in the verse which decribed this (Book of Numbers 13:22) it is written that they reached as far as Hebron.
At the junction between Kiryat Arba and Givat HaAvot, in addition to the well-known illegal synagogue which stands on private Palestinian land (left), another area surrounded by a tin fence can be seen on the right. Another dunam and another goat. (a verse used by earlier pioneers).
3. Near the former wholesale market to which King David fled (the Shuhada), a new housing unit. If had put such a unit in my yard or on my street inside the Green Line, they would immediately confiscate it and further impose a fine on me.

According to Wye Plantation Accords (1997), Hebron is divided in two: H1 is under Palestinian Authority control, H2 is under Israeli control. In Hebron there are 170,000 Palestinian citizens, 60,000 of them in H2. Between the two areas are permanent checkpoints, manned at all hours, preventing Palestinian movement between them and controlling passage of permit holders such as teachers and schoolchildren. Some 800 Jews live in Avraham Avinu Quarter and Tel Rumeida, on Givat HaAvot and in the wholesale market.
