Abu Dis, ContainerWed. 21.12.05 AMDrora P, Rena R, Rahel M, (reporting)6:30 am Abu-DisNear the gas station and around the hotel, there was almost no movement. Then we drove back to go up the road leading to the pishpash, where we parked the car. There was a constant large flow of people coming from the pishpash. A Jeep was present and BP asking for IDs. A handful of people were told to return. The BP did their work in a quiet manner. There were no detainees, but sometimes men waited by the side for an additional check, and then the IDs were returned and they continued to Jerusalem. Two young people approached us. They said they were Ecumenists, a young man from Norway here two weeks, and a young woman here three months from Denmark. We walked through the monestary and went by transit to the container. 7:45 am ContainerWhen we arrived there were 8 vehicles in line waiting for Bethlehem. Nobody was checking. After 10 minutes a BP waving them through without any checking. There are two lanes to Abu-Dis, but only one open. Two women soldiers were doing the checking. While we were present, two transits were stopped for additional checking, but after 10 minutes continued on their way. A routine morning.
