Abu Dis, the ContainerWednesday PM, 4.1.06Observers: Luara S., Daniela G. (reporting).Summary: Again, little to report except the somewhat more lenient approach everywhere.Abu Dis: 3 soldiers at the former Pishpash, quite communicative, and as usual, waiting for the forms regarding the 3 young boys caught without permits on the Jerusalem side. Strange that the soldiers are not equipped in advance with those forms, and always have to contact the base and wait for the jeep to bring them. When we made a remark to that effect, the soldier wondered where he would place them. We pointed to some very large pockets he had. The soldiers rarely check anyone, concentrating if at all on young makes. New food stands and stores on the other side of the Pishpash, their destiny doubtful when the wall will be completed. The stones blocking the car entrance towards the monastery have been moved, a BP jeep is cruising the area in search for who knows what. The Container: Short lines in both directions, vehicles are seldom stopped and the lines disperse rapidly. Minibus loads of workers arrive every few minutes, they rush to the turnstiles and while at first they are let in two by two and their documents checked, when the going gets crowded they only have to flash their documents to be let through and some even pass without displaying them at all.
