Abu DisMonday AM, 20.3.06Observers: Ronni Y., Hanna B. (reporting). We started by driving to Abu Dis through Wadi Joz, Rockfeller intersection, the Shiloach intersection. We encountered no CPs. A BP jeep was seen next to the gas station but there was no checking and no detainees. Up the road we saw no CPs either. From there we drove to the new Zeitim CP. It was 07:15 – peak hour of setting out to school and to work – and all along the way we met only very few Palestinians. Have the people despaired or is the closure taking its toll? During the whole hour we spent at the Zeitim CP only two people passed! We drove to Al-Ezariya. We found a BP jeep in its regular place in the morning. Very few vehicles were checked. When we arrived there was a taxi being checked which was released 15 minutes later. Besides that a pedestrian was detained and was sent back on his tracks following the checking of his papers. On the whole, traffic was very scarce. We returned to Jerusalem at 09:45.
