(reporting)Summary: Today is the holiest Muslim day during the month of Ramadan – the day the Koran was given to Muhamed. Jerusalem and its surroundings is swamped with security forces, blue and green, and on the other hand there are masses of Palestinians, men and women, attempting with all their might to finds ways to the prayer at Al Aqsa. The news in Arabic informs that only women over 40 and men aged 45 and above, are allowed in if they do not hold blue IDs or other valid permits.Abu-dis DCL: 14:30 – Empty. There is only one man at the windows. He seems to be joking with the soldier on the other end.The Container: 14:45 – Heavy traffic in both directions but passage is swift. Pedestrian workers bound for Bethlehem also have no problems crossing over.Az-Za’ayyem CP: 15:00 – A very long line of vehicles, over a kilometer long. Moving into Jerusalem takes ages even though three checking stations are open. Buses are inspected thoroughly. Palestinians cross the highway hurriedly in search of ways to get to the prayer.Road no. 1: Traffic jams all over, blue police at every intersection.
