Bethlehem and Surroundings, Thurs. Nov. 24, 05 PMObservers: Eva P., Nurit S. (reporting)We drove directly to the Ezyon DCO and arrived there at about 3:20. It was open but totally empty of people.Ezyon CP Working and there was a long line of cars. There were no detainees and the traffic was moving.El Khadr Especially congested and busy with buses and taxis and pedestrians.Bethlehem CP 300 Deserted. Apparently the CP is no longer functioning there as the new CP has opened. There was garbage everywhere. Two soldiers stood at the old CP and told us that we are not allowed to go any further. We met two Americans (am man and woman who were associated in some way with Bethlehem University) who had come across and they told us that they had come by way of the new CP and that it was an alienated and frightening place. The woman had been locked between two revolving doors and was shouted at through the microphone. She said it was frightening. We gave them a ride into Jerusalem and told them about Machsomwatch. They were interested and said they would try to join one of our shifts. In general, it was a shift without special events. We felt that the events of the CP are now totally out of sight and accessibility. It seems a revision of our shift should be made so as to be more effective.
